RE: RE: Financial Post article:Hi
Not surprising given the publication. Not a balanced article. Who is this professor that they dug up in Alberta? The Star may not be balanced either, but let's recognize the bias of this publication.
What would be interesting is to know how many jobs have been created so far? As emerges at the end of the article, it is not likely that the Tories would dismantle the program if elected. Was it on this site or another that there was a report that it was Tory MPPs on behalf of their farmer constituents that jumped all over the Liberals for lowering the ground mounted FIT.
Also renewable energy has a lot of support as we saw in California even in these times.
How is the Autopact so different than the Green Energy Act. And with FIT the point is to lower them to zero over time.
I wouldn't be happy if my government wasn't making an effort to reduce reliance on imported and polluting fossil fuels. Import substitution is good economic policy--keeps dollars in-province.
The FIT program has created a residential and commercial constituency which will be very vocal and highly motivated if they mess around too much with it. Look at Germany.
Too bad the Liberals gave into grumbling because people don't want to pay the true cost of power.
