iShares Silver Trust SLV

The investment seeks to reflect generally the performance of the price of silver. The Trust seeks to reflect such performance before payment of the Trusts expenses and liabilities. It is not actively managed. The Trust does not engage in any activities designed to obtain a profit from, or to ameliorate losses caused by, changes in the price of silver.

Even if the companies who run GLD and SLV  did not have huge shorts against their respective metals, why take the chance when there are other alternatives? There may not be enough metals in these funds to cover all the shares. Read some of the previous posts for all the risks.

Mr Soros, as a large investor, can take delivery; small investors cannot. Mr Soros also has much better connections than you or I, and may be able to exit before any potential implosion of GLD.

There are safer ways to invest in bullion, so why not take them. I did.
