RE: RE: RE: More of SI's compensationI'm just curious how it works.
If the NAV runs huge one year he gets huge bonus.
If it drops huge the next year no bonus.
If the next year it runs from a low to a high then there is a huge bonus.
To me it really seems like the insider buying is Mr. Inwentash spending the money from the bonuses on the last run up to push up the SP. He made a killing off bonuses before the crash so when the SP crashed he never felt a thing while all the shareholders were on the edge of their seats the past two years. He'll make a ton of money again from bonuses for this next run up to the same NAV that he received bonuses for before.
Do you see? The NAV runs back to the same levels as before and he'll be raking in a huge bonus again for a NAV increase he's already received a bonus for. I'm not saying there is something wrong with this. He's making a killing off of market swings and doesn't feel any pinch if everything crashes to nothing. Smart on his part.
If there's one point to come from this discussion it's whether or not much should be made of the insider buying. He's pretty much only investing a small portion of the bonuses he's received (and which he'll receive again for the same NAV increases). Seems to me like buying shares and running up the SP is the only decent thing he can do given he's already made 40 mil off bonuses and stands to make another 40 mil when the NAV gets back to where it was after he made the first 40.
Sorry if I'm unclear but if my understanding about the bonus situation is right then I think the insider buys may be given too much importance in general discourse.
