Southern Pacific Resource Corp. is a Canada-based company, which is engaged in the thermal production of heavy oil in Senlac, Saskatchewan on a property known as STP-Senlac, and thermal production of bitumen on a property located in the Athabasca region of Alberta known as STP-McKay, as well as exploration for and development of in-situ oil sands in the Athabasca region of Alberta. Its STP-McKay property consists of oil sands leases totaling approximately 37,760 acres. The Company’s operations also include Anzac, Hangingstone and Ells. The Company’s STP-McKay property is located approximately 45 kilometers northwest Ft. McMurray. The Anzac project covers approximately 117 kilometers of two-dimensional (2D) seismic. The Company owns 80% interest in Hangingstone project. The Ells project covers approximately 164 kilometers of two-dimensional (2D) seismic.

RE: RE: Looks like STP wants to end the yearMost retail holders give up there shares based on volatility.  That works going up as much as it does down.  MMs drove this price down, and lots of people sold there shares at a loss - but then the selling dried up.  Now this move up is an effort to get you to sell with a good profit (after all - you'd hate to see it drop again right?).

I fell into that trap with bankers.  Sold 1/4 at $1.90 on the way up with a big 90% profit.  Believe it or not that was only 14 May 2009.  The stock had jumped then fallen back, then jumped again - so i did the smart thing and locked in some profits (and some capital gains).  I kept the rest - but that 90% profit would have been 800% 10 months later.

I'm keeping my STP.
