I believe it was John Emery himself who said that under your senario we should all head for the hills and live in a cave.  Don't forget your gold.

How much gold is there anyway that it can be used as a currency by everyone?  No answer?

I will give you a hint because I am nice.

It would fit in a three square block of land.  But how high?  Answer was given on BNN some time ago.  Lot of weight. 

Anyway there is no relationship between gold and SGR according to at least one poster here.
