Toronto, Canada, December 8, 2010 - BacTech Environmental Corporation (“BEC” or the
“Company”, CNSX: BAC) today announced that it has appointed a new member to its board of
directors.
MaryAnn Mihychuk has accepted an invitation to join the board of BEC effective immediately.
Ms Mihychuk is a professional geoscientist with over 33 years of experience in the mining
industry. She presently advises public and private companies on issues related to governance,
social responsibility and regulatory matters. Prior to that, she was Director of Corporate
Relations for HudBay Minerals (2007-2009). She also held the position of Minister of Mines in
the Manitoba government (1999-2004) and served as a member of the Manitoba Legislature for
nine years.
MaryAnn has extensive community engagement experience with Canada’s Aboriginal Peoples
and was instrumental in building a relationship between the Prospectors and Developers
Association of Canada (PDAC) and Assembly of First Nations. Ms Mihychuk is also the Founder
and Chair of Women in Mining Canada and she sits on the board of the PDAC.
The BEC board of directors has also approved the issuance of 2,100,000 options to purchase
common shares of the Company to twelve directors, officers, employees and consultants of the
Company. The exercise price of the options is
.15. They are subject to a four-month hold and
have a term of 5 years.
The total number of outstanding options under the Company’s plan is 2,100,000 or
approximately 7.8% of the outstanding shares.
