LMA reaffirms ongoing Ity operations on Dec 8th and then shuts it down just 9 days later. Things must be pretty bad over there with the violence and civil unrest. I wonder if this hostility will trickle into neighbouring countries like Mali, Burkino Faso, and Ghana which have a lot of mining operations. Certainly something to keep an eye on if you hold shares of companies in these regions. Fortunately for LMA shareholders, this only represents 15% of the production profile. Definately a buying opportunity on the SP weakness which has been mostly priced in already IMO.
