Accordingto a Moscow newspaper story of today, Severstal has agreed to spend more than$2 billion to build a new steelmill in India in partnership with thestate-owned iron-ore miner of India.
Severstalhas not yet disclosed anything to its shareholders on the Indian deal, or theterms of the proposed MoU.
Severstalspokesman Oleg Bykov said the company refuses to comment on the new steelmill project in India.
