RE: RE: RE: RE: silver used to replace palladiumIf it's a 50/50 ratio, you'd be using close to $1200 worth of rhodium to replace $800 worth of palladium. You have to use at least twice as much silver as rhodium for this to be economic, at current prices.
And Rhodium is much rarer than palladium. If they start to consume rhodium in quantity in catalytic converters - replacing the main industrial application of palladium, the price of rhodium will skyrocket, and the price of palladium will drop. Guess what that will mean?
I suspect that nothing will come of this unless the silver to rhodium ratio is like 90:10 or better. That would be positive for silver, but much, much more positive for rhodium.
