Mr. David Forrest reports

WESTERN PLAINS PETROLEUM THREE NEW LANDROSE WELLS ON PRODUCTION

Western Plains Petroleum Ltd. has drilled and completed its year-end three-well drilling program in the Landrose area of west-central Saskatchewan. Two of the wells, each in-fill wells adjacent to the company's three producing heavy oil wells located on Section 6-50-25 W3M, are producing at a total rate of approximately 160 barrels per day (80 bbls/d net to the company) of heavy oil. The third well, located nearby on Section 16-50-26 W3M, is being brought on slowly with production now up to approximately 30 bbls/d (15 bbls/d net to the company). Western Plains is the operator and holds a 50-per-cent working interest in these three Landrose wells.

The company has working interests (one well at 25-per-cent WI and five wells at 50-per-cent WI) in a total of six wells in the Landrose area that are producing in total approximately 430 bbls/d (195 bbls/d net to the company) of heavy oil. Combined with heavy oil production from its other working interests in wells in the Lloydminster, Alta., area and the Maidstone and Lloydminster, Sask., areas, the company exited 2010 with net production in excess of 300 bbls/d.
