RE: Analysts say Chinese uranium announcement is oI've read other reports that more or less say the same thing and I agree. But it was interesting to read comments on various boards to the effect that the Chinese announcement had nothing to do with the drop in a large number of uranium producer SP's happening just after the announcement came out, just the usual reasons e.g., overbought, time for a correction etc., but adding that Chinese claims were exaggerated, that other countries had dismissed the process as dangerous and so on. I can't buy that as I, even with my limited experience playing the market, know what rumors or exaggerated claims can do to an SP, and I think there was considerable panic caused by the Chinese announcement among the bigger players let alone small investors to cause them to sell off at least some of their holdings and bring down SP's. Also the source of the announcement was not some obscure scientist or company but would have been made with approval of the Chinese government andd this would underpin it's validity in the minds on investors. This will die down and SP's will rise back up and this will happen sooner than later as long as analysts come out as in the previous post and refute the claims. To me this is a good example of stock market panic and denial.
