Charles Selby, a former Vice President of Pengrowth Corporation has worked closely with Jim Kinnear for approximately 20 years and was directly involved in the strategy, negotiations and completion of more than 50 asset and corporate acquisitions and 20 public equity raisings. He was actively engaged in all aspects of the business of Pengrowth Energy Trust, assisting Jim and the management team of formulating strategy, identifying transactions, negotiating acquisitions and financing and implementing new business initiatives.

Charles holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Chemical Engineering from Queen’s University and a law degree from the University of Calgary. Charles has worked as a petroleum engineer in Canada, the U.S. and Saudi Arabia. He subsequently practiced law in Calgary, specializing in securities, oil and natural gas and international financial transactions. He has extensive experience in structuring and
financing transactions in Canada and internationally. He also serves on the board of a number of public and private corporations and acts as President of Caledonian Royalty Corporation.
