On Conspiracies...Some believe in a conspiracy theory that the sp is being manipulated. Let's assume that this is true, just as a thought experiment, and we were pushed to such a low level for someone's benefit. Such effort means that there is something valuable in NUVO that makes it worth owning longterm. If we were being naked shorted, the price would definitely go down but beyond the net asset value is unlikely. We were close to this number not long ago. Sooner or later, shorts have to be covered which creates a very nice rally. The only time the shorts wouldn't have to be covered is if the company were to go bankrupt. With $30 mm in the bank and Rx increasing everyday, surely, anyone can see that revenues will be up eventually, not to mention the milestone payments coming, and this means we have time to wait. There is time to watch any short covering. No warrants to cover the shorts. Well go ahead and buy on the open market. Shorting is a very dangerous game. Even the pros get in trouble especially when there are 3rd parties looking at a piece of the Nuvo action- these are unknown of course.
If there is no conspiracy going on, then the market is just being what it is: bipolar at times, not logical, or irrational, at times on a business time frame (meaning quarter after quarter, not human time frame, meaning day after day). If the sales figures are good, we go up from here. It is a slow journey.
If there really is great greed at work, then money will be made again on the upside. And it will overshoot until analyst justify the new current price. Then when they get out and unload, they'll say the stock price is "fairly valued".
If anyone thinks Covidien wants to hurt NRI, well that's just absurd. Any gain in market share now, will only help them with Pennsaid Plus (gel) which will have long term patent protection and ease of use. They are smart and understand that a Win-Win situation for both companies is better than a Win-Lose situation. And this time around, the FDA is dealing with an American company trying for FDA approval- so can we say that the political playfield has improved? i think so.
There will be many more days of excitement. Remember Phase III Pennsaid trials and what happened to the sp then? Sure you do. Remember what happened to the sp just prior to FDA announcement, the second time? Well, i do, and i do dislike the word, "approvable" and "not insurmountable". We'll deal with these words again with Pennsaid Plus and WF10 in the future
Good luck everyone, especially the 1 who sold everything and now wants to help us all, how noble of him.
