1 - A chineese company steals the technology, takes the 10 years it took Wavefront to master the technology and then get a producer to trial the technology and then 3 years later when they feel compfortable to you said knock off technology they expand on that first trial.
2- Bernanke stops printing money or is forced to stop printing money and the entire financial sytem takes a crapper. Now the pro to that is that the price of oil is very cheap and producers will not want to look for it at high costs and they will utilize EOR techniques to maximize assets already in place.
3- Producers will try many EOR techniques and get improved results and the asset managers will look like heros to their bosses and will tell WAvefront to take a hike. We don't need to have the optimal EOR that your tool provides !! I only have to show my boss an increase in production to get my bonus and skate smoothly into my sweet sweet pension with stock options.
4- Slow industry takes so long to adapt to this phenominal technology that Wavefornt goes broke .... But with $30 million in the bank and revenues increasing QoQ and I mean really increasing, and global expansion touted by managment around the corner, and BRETT on NATIONAL TV saying WAVEFRONT is going to be a $BILLION company. I think I will have to remove #4 from W in my SWOT analysis
5- Competition could always come along....but they will have to wait many years and many trials just like Wavefront
6 - Horizontal Fraccing has great success and producers stop there because their share holders are happy with increased production and execs skate into retirement with sweet sweet pensions.
7 - Wavefront tool fails ! It is hard to put that in the W-column with such a steller record for production improvement and durability but you have to be cautios when making a HUGE BET !!!
