RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: recent insider filingsI am a little confused as to some of the posts from the last day or so - it might just be the wording.
The QD tandem cell development and its commercialization is the company's ultimate near term goal. Heres why - this achievement would entirely disrupt an industry which regards a 0.10% improvement in efficiency as a breakthough.
Once it achieves the finished tandem cell, it is to be commercialized and the technology is to be licensed to willing participants rather than sold to the highest bidder according to the company. According to the press release there are tentative plans for start-ups to base their production around the LPD process (front and rear passivation, tandem, and AR) so I wouldn't worry about the possibility of a market for their product. An accelerated version of cell doping via LPD will be a great addition to the current line-up and I expect it in the not too distant future. A doping process would be the next logical addition to the LPD portfolio for the silicon solar cell for Natcore aside from the realization of a tandem cell.
The company is developing their applications in parallel and research is to be accelerated with a consolidated lab in Houston and this was one of the reasons for their most recent financing. The bulk of their efforts are towards rapidly accelerating their solar developments and those developments allow Natcore to offer a more complete offering to their customers (ie increasing efficiency all the while reducing the costs associated with production).
The company remains focused.
As the fundamental and foundational applications are developed they plan on branching out into other areas where the technology can be of benefit.
