No, they have to delineate (find the edges) of the reservoir. Otherwise it would be like guessing at the size of a box and all you have is one measurement. To accurately determiine the reservoir, they need to step out and drill in all 4 directions. This would give you an accurate subsurface map of whats going on down there. Also, flow rate and API have nothing to do with determining reservoir size.
