Spreads and Markets

Spreads and MarketsI have noticed somewhat wide spreads developing during the trading day with NUS. At one point last week I think I saw Bid $2.17 Offer $2.27. At other times I am seeing a .2 to .3 cent spread. The spread tightens after a few trades but I don't think this should happen with a stock with this much volume and with significant expected news coming. Right now it looks like any JV deal may be around 2.25 or maybe a little higher as NUS seems to have some support at this level. A lot of the trades also seem to be quite small like 200 shares 400 and then a few for 2,000 or a bit more. I am not seeing a whole lot of 20,000 share trades or bids or offers as the buyer and seller broker seem to change quite often. To me this indicates small retail investors buying and selling while institutions and insiders may be holding. It may also indicate that the market maker is trying to flush the sellers out of the market to clear room to move the stock up. As well I only can find maximum 3 brokers that have actually issued recent or fairly recent buy reports. TD in Toronto and Numis on AIM yet NUS has fairly significant volume on the 3 markets BB Toronto and AIM. Also looking maybe 3 times daily I see on average more bids than offers yet every time they try to move the price up sellers come out of the bushes. I wish NUS did not trade on the BB in the USA as this would maybe concentrate more of the trading on Toronto. I also found this rather interesting analysis https://thoughtsofaprivateinvestor.blogspot.com/2010/07/nautilus-minerals.html (you may have to paste this into your browser)
