Azure Dynamics Corp AZDDQ

Azure Dynamics Corporation (Azure) is engaged in the development and sale of electric vehicle (EV) and hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) systems and components. HEV systems include an electric motor, an energy storage system (batteries or ultracapacitors), and an additional power source, such as an internal combustion engine/generator. An EV does not include the additional power source and only includes an electric motor and an energy storage system. It has four wholly owned subsidiaries: Azure Dynamics Inc., Azure Dynamics Incorporated, Azure Dynamics Corporation of America and Azure Dynamics Limited. Azure has developed electric and hybrid electric drive technologies for the light to heavy duty commercial vehicle category (the Technology). Azure has developed three primary product groups, which include full hybrid electric; mild hybrid electric; and pure electric solutions. Target markets include hybrid electric delivery vans and shuttle buses, as well as electric drive applications.

FedEx Next

FedEx NextIMHO we will also see a triple digit order from FedEx within the month its been approx 1 year since the 51 unit order were put into service this from the Fedex website re hybrid delivery vans

We recognize that government support will give a major boost to this technology. FedEx is the only transportation company to publicly call for fuel efficiency standards for commercial medium and heavy-duty truck classes. In addition, FedEx has been an advocate for government incentives at the national, state and local levels to offset the higher capital costs of cleaner vehicles while the market is developing, and our CEO and Chairman Frederick W. Smith has testified numerous times before Congress regarding the electrification of transportation.

There remains tremendous potential for growth in the cleaner vehicle technology market. Mitch Jackson, director of environmental affairs and sustainability at FedEx explains, “It’s time for the truck manufacturing industry to create its version of the Prius: clean, affordable and widely available for truck fleets.”

Well Azure is the market leader number one in the world for this vehicle segment and the equivalent to the passenger Prius so my money is on them stepping up to the plate in short order.
