Saskatchewan food banks get massive donation from Potash Corp

$1 million donation largest in organization's history
Story Tools

The Saskatchewan Food Banks received a cheque for $1 million from Potash Corp Friday- marking the largest donation in their history.

Wayne Hellquist, CEO of the Regina Food Bank, could not be happier about the news.

"It's almost overwhelming to receive that kind of support. Certainly it's going to help us a lot in terms of meeting some of our short term and long term needs. It'll ensure again that we have an adequate food supply."

Hellquist says unfortunately, the number of people using the food banks across Saskatchewan continues to rise each year.

Maybe some day Allana can do the same in Ethiopia
