Big Boom Boom......Into November, more than 250 wells had been completed in the Eagle Ford with more than 850 new drilling permits issued. These were drilled in some 35 different counties, resulting in at least 30 new fields. Following their straight hole starts, Eagle Ford wells are typically drilled horizontally about 3,000 to 5,000 feet and then fractured with slick water or acid in multi- stages. The RRC said the average cost of these completions is in the $5 to $6 million range per well.
