RE: Cranberry Capital and prospect generatThe more I think about it, the Cranberry/Van Eeden co-venture must be related to the success of the Millrock investment. This venture isn't just about buying shares in early stage exploration companies, that's easy, we do it every day. It's about incubating companies, creating royalties, and diversifying Altius' geographical profile. I think the Cranberry/Altius method, as with Millrock, will proceed like this:
1) Find undercapitalized explorer (probably prospect generator) operating in a region outside of Altius' domain in Newfoundland and Labrador.
2) Offer cash, and the stamp of approval of both Altius and Van Eeden (retail investors will take you more seriously with those names on board) in exchange for:
3) A significant equity position, generous warrants, newly-created royalties and directorships (if the company needs the guidance).
Millrock was a brilliant win for Altius--2 new royalties (exploration expenses to be paid for by partners) in a district Altius has no expertise in, quadrupling of the original equity investment, and millions of warrants at a great entry price. I think Altius wants to find explorers in the Yukon, Quebec, Nunavut, even Nevada and Latin America and repeat the Millrock incubation process. They know their name and Van Eeden's name mean a great deal in the mineral exploration marketplace. Micro-cap explorers will line up to do business with them.
