Kinross precursor for Yamana

Kinross precursor for Yamana

Just had a look at Kinross's numbers.  550-610 per ounce costs was a shocker. it appears they do not have the benefit of by products to reduce that number as yamana does. it did say that the average sale price of ounce of gold was $1333 for the quarter.

a couple of things we now know about yamana's numbers next Wednesday

Ounce of gold sold will be around 1333
they produced 286000 ounces in the 4th quarter as per their quidance
their Q3 cost per ounce was $125 as per their quidance
Q 4 cost should be a minimum 10% lower than that considering the rise in copper and silver prices.

1333- 110 * 286000 / 741000000 (shares) =  47.2 cents per share gross earnings. I am not smart enough to figure out the net, but I can boldly predict it will be higher than the 17 cents from Q3. I'm thinking 25-28 cents per share. Which would put us at a PE of 11-12 which is pathetic for a company that is performing this well.

My guess:  There will be a hike in dividends and the share price should start to gain momentum as we are performing much better than some of our peers. Would like to see them buyback some shares as well.

PS. This current quarter is even better than the 4th quarter they are reporting on next Wednesday.
