It's only waterThanks for the map, but all that means to me is that they will deal with it. Hell if the gold is there, they'll do what they have to in order to get it out. I'm not a miner, but I'm sure this is not the first time they've seen this situation. Look at diamond mining. Most often the kimberlite dykes are sloped right under the water and they still get them out. Maybe if we're lucky, they'll find some diamonds too.( just kidding). I don't think it really matters at this point of the exploration, whether there is water or not, as all the actual figures for excavation are relative to the size and viability of the project. What info and whom you believe should always be left up to the experts. Although, If you listen to John Embry of Sprott, he doesn't even like open pit mining, because of the fuel costs these days. I have no idea, but it would seem cheaper to me than actually digging and drilling a mine shaft. Good points on the lake issues, but I guess time will tell, and hopefully so will the experts.
In the mid 90's, Gold was worth approx. $400 an oz average., and they used to get excited, and were lucky if they could get it out of the ground for under $100 an oz in places like Peru. So, with Gold at today's prices, heading supposedly toward all time crazy highs, who knows how much of a ratio companies are looking for to make it worth proceeding with a mine. We all know labor costs are higher in Canada compared to Peru, but it doesn't seem to be slowing down the explosion of exploration going on right now. Feeder fish Juniors are exactly what the big Barricks need, so drill on BTR and hope for the best. The board was slow, so I though it was a good time for Blah Blah!
Arequipa, was a stock I owned in the mid 90's, so just for interest sake, and let me be very clear, not for comparison what so ever here, other than in grades, Maybe interesting, if you never heard of it, that it was a darling. It had an amazing run with a great find, low outstanding shares and over 8 mil ozs, where I got in at $7.00 and it was bought out by Barrick for approx $800 mil with a combination of $30 and shares in less than a year. I am only referring to this not to boast and or to pump, but to make reference to the grades in relation to my previous post on here about having a clue,( which I hope didn't offend too many people), I just wanted to share that our grades here are very good, and you don't have to always hit the 77 g/t mark to be successful. I'm not trying to insult the people who know much more than myself here, just trying to help some little guys who keep getting screwed by Joe and the boys for not knowing any better. It was my most exciting junior ever that I owned, and they are far and few between, but that's what makes this so much fun; the gamble. Screw the lottery tickets. IMHO
