For my part, I don't think the colors other than those representing the assay grades in the drill columns are the most important bits in the graphic.
I think what they are trying to show are the grade changes that occur after the drill broaches the interpreted fault , represented by the wavy line.
All intercepts to the right of the dash line and the Interpreted Fault line are significantly higher than those at shallower depths.
So, yup, the contact areas are key, and in this case, those appear at the fault lines.
And yes the higher grades appear to be in those downplunge areas toward the red core, but it is the presence of the interpreted fault that triggers the shift to the increase in grades.
