Timelines

Timelines
This is the best timeline I can assemble for Shore Gold.  Note, I have used the word "should" and not "will" given these are best guesses - but logical/practical guesses - from persons I have spoken with.

  1. Shore Gold submitted their 'Draft' Environmental Impact Statement to Government in December 2010, the Government then submitted it to various stakeholders for a 45-day review/comment period which ends on March 10th.
  2. The Saskatchewan Government "should" take a couple of weeks to assemble the received comments and then make requests to Shore Gold for revisions, additions, and clarifications.
  3. About April 1st, Shore Gold "should" receive the Government requests for revisions, additions, and clarifications.
  4. Shore Gold is scheduled to release the Final Feasibility report in Q2 - so, given these timelines, the Final Feasibility will be released after Shore sees the Government report on their EIS; Shore will thus know of any problems that may arise and thus have a more accurate and supportable Feasibility report.
  5. Shore "should" file the 'Final' EIS Provicnially and Federally on about June 1st, there is then a 30-day window for public review on the Provincial level and longer on the Federal level
  6. On about July 1st, the Government of Saskatchewan "should" give environmental approval for the mine - the Federal permit could also be granted if a behind the scenes agreement is struck (which could happen given the Provincial election schedules and potential Federal election), but it could take up to another 6-months.  Note; even without the Federal permit, the project can begin early stage work with the solid expectations of receiving it within 6-months.
  7. With the Provincial permit, Shore then files for a mining permit and various other permits
  8. Road construction into the site and surface preparations could begin very late this year, but likely not until into early next year if they have the money.
