OPL is making all the right moves by capturing the market in Asia and now they developed a much more efficient/faster semiconductor.

OPEL SOLAR LAUNCHES OPEL SOLAR ASIA, LTD.
OpelSolar Inc. has formed Opel Solar Asia Ltd. in Hong Kong. Opel SolarInc. in the United States and Ecotech Environmental Technology Ltd.,based in Hong Kong, are the two partners in the joint venture. For Opelthis represents the beginning of a long-term goal to position Opel toenter East Asia, developing the HCPV market. In signing the agreement,Opel Solar's advanced HCPV technology moves into what has been deemedthe fastest-growing solar market in the world with years of stronggrowth projections ahead.
The mission of Opel Solar Asia is tomarket Opel HCPV products throughout East Asia. The primary countrytargeted for CPV market penetration is China. "With Ecotech, Opel Solarfound a well-established partner to advance our business into East Asia.In fact, according to a recent posting on New Energy World Network,China's photovoltaic market is one of the largest in the world and has arobust growth projection," said Frank Middleton, chief operatingofficer of Opel Solar. "Opel chose to enter this market with Ecotechbecause of their profound regional knowledge and client base, with theadded advantage that since Ecotech is established, it serves to minimizeour start-up expense," Mr. Middleton added.
The creation of OSAincludes an initial purchase order for two megawatts of Opel Solar'sHCPV system products, both the solar modules and tracker models. Thisorder is an example of the rising demand for HPCV systems in China.Getting more specific, Mr. Middleton continued, "These products areexpected to fulfill immediate contracts Ecotech has secured within thePeople's Republic of China, and it represents a multimillion-dollarrevenue opportunity for Opel Solar, which results in revenue during thefirst year of operations of the JV."
In addition to the initialtwo-megawatt order for Opel Solar's HCPV products, it is anticipatedthat Opel Solar Asia will continue a vigorous ordering stream. "Theestablishment of Opel Solar Asia with its anticipated order projectionrepresents significant value growth for Opel Solar's stakeholders," saidLeon Pierhal, chief executive officer of Opel Solar. "Such a burgeoningCPV solar market in East Asia may bring to Opel revenues approaching$100-million over the next four to five years. The decision to pursue ajoint venture strategy to enter East Asia is one of the most importantdecisions we have made to support the rapid growth of the company." Mr.Pierhal further stated other worldwide joint ventures are in variousstages of negotiations for 2011.
"We believe Opel Solar hasproven technology and a good product for the CPV market in East Asia.Ecotech is honoured to be Opel Solar's JV partner in penetrating thismarket. There are challenges ahead but the chance of capturing marketopportunities in this region is very real. TheOpel Solar products shipped for the two-megawatt order will open thedoor for local manufacturing by OSA, as Ecotech has an establishednetwork of local manufacturers. Once the manufacturing processes attainsolid efficiency, OSA will assume the full manufacturing process toinstall complete HCPV utility-grade solar farms.
