RE: RE: Algoma Steel

RE: RE: Algoma SteelI have a lot of tendancy to agree... Lucy was never in play and this was terrible failure of an attempt to re interest investors.  I spoke with Plastino around a year ago about the possibility of getting ore from this area and he said not a chance... maybe in a hundred years when the global supplies start to run short.  He also mentioned that the ore from this deposit has a very high impurity content (especially sulphur) which makes processing and using it very polluting, and thus requiring extensive pollution control equipment.  Lets face it, when Essar has a cheap, clean supply of iron, secured for many years to come, why bother with this again...?  And I assume thats what they thought when they decommissioned the old mine, all their facilities, and rehabilitated the area.  I also think the other deposits around the country will be developed long before this one, and even if Essar was interested, I'm sure they wouldn't be leaving it in the hands of Dianor to follow through.  I don't know much about the Mn, so I cannot comment on its viability.  I would however be open to Essar if they had an interest.
