ALASKAN FISH TROUBLE?? NOT!!There is no trouble. The report mentions:
No fish around Shaft Creek.
Minor run off of trace metals not an issue.
The major concern appears to be- Water Management over the course of the LIFE OF THE MINE
because the mine is up river of shared waterways that do contain fish.
Copper Fox has some work on the tailings plan etc but the report pushes for more
The September 2008 Schaft Creek Project Description (RTEC September 2008) states that tailings will be stored in the Skeeter Lake area. As described, the Skeeter TSF will require three embankments to contain the tailings generated over the life of the mine and will have a positive water balance. Discharge will be to Skeeter Creek; no information was provided on water treatment. Preliminary water balance models suggest a positive water balance in the TSF with an annual excess of 5 million m3. Although most of the tailings options are located in non-fish bearing watersheds, they flow directly into fish-bearing streams. Consideration will need to be given to the discharge water quality and effects on downstream aquatic populations.
So essentially if the water treatment is not up to snuff they may have to add/revise it.
Hopefully it will be in the new feasibility study but people lets remember this
TAKE CARE OF THE UNKNOWNS FIRST:
LETS FIND THE METALS - that is our number one goal.
THEN YOU USE EXISTING TECHNOLOGY TO HELP THE ENVIRONMENT.
There is nothing in the assessment that says the US won't let us have a mine!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's why we are at trading where we are right now!!!!!!!!!
If there was going to be fight over the mine we'd be at 5 cents and Galore Creek would be finished as well along
with EVERY OTHER MINE IN BRITISH COLUMBIA.
Do you DD and know the Bashers are all full of it.
