Hi,
You are certainly correct that there is nothing inherently negative about solution mining. 
My particular negativity is about management's lack of transparency.
One minor issue--the subsurface mining is not hard rock mining. That term is properly used for underground mining in igneous or metamorphic rock, typically much harder than sedimentary rock.
