RE: small project boom?

RE: small project boom?

Or, they could be replacing a worker who is leaving. I can't tell whether this is a net positive increase in workforce.

I prefer to follow the clues I gather from the Cineplex deals.
It took them about a year and a half between the first installation in Etobicoke (June 2009) and the announcement of options for the new theatres (Nov 2010), which indicates to me that  they are being careful not to jump into a flash in the pan technology. They could have quietly dropped the whole deal if Toronto was a dud but they've decided to increase their investment based on (I assume) customer feedback and success in Toronto. This indicates to me that the business model works for an established, relatively conservative outfit.

This is important to me because it’s too easy to dismiss the smaller movie chains as maybe desperate to differentiate themselves with any gimmick they can dream up.

Early adoption by the smaller chains and subsequent investment by Cineplex, taken together, validates the business model for me.

Remember, the bigger the deal, the longer it will take to finalise.
