RE: RE: RE: Dione testing 1 month now and still noPatience is a virtue guys...but I have to admit I'm also getting impatient, checking in every now and then on the web site to see if they have posted anything.
If we go back to the press releases we can see that TPL on 11th of Jan said: "Testing can commence once approval has been granted by the Kazakh State, which is likely to take up to a month to obtain". Then on the 17th of Feb they said "Initial testing of the AKD03 (Dione) well is expected to commence shortly". Now, what is shortly? I'd say it's a week, two tops. That means we should be testing as we speak. They have eight zones to test, and if they do it as rigorously as they did the last time (and I see no reason why they should not), we're looking at a total of let's say 12 weeks to test all zones, it should be a bit more efficent testing 8 that 2, so they might not spend 2 weeks on each. Also, the could quickly end up in a situation where a zone is not responding to the testing due to too low permeability, or it could be water wet.
Hence, the whole testing of Dione is probably not finished until late May early June i would guess. However, there is no reason to withhold all testing data until then, so that's why I said we would get some test data before the end of March. Last year, the q4 resluts were published on the 31st of March, and the year before on the same date. TPL has also said that they will release the Doris reserve report before the end of March, so it's probably a good guess that in 2+ weeks time we will get some info.
Good points by Intrasvire (yeah, what is that Intra/Ultra all about?!?) on the characteristics of TPL as a company, they seem to be of a different breed that many other O&G juniors whose main purpose in life seems to be to produce NR and pump up their stock price (especially the ones in Colombia). TPL does take their time, but if the end result is as good as we hope, so be it.
All the best,
Darcy
ps. In moments of doubt, watch one of the many interviews that our good Dr Robson participates in, every time he speaks about Doris, he just looks like a teenager in love!
