RE: REMEMBER 128 deaths last year....Also remember it is difficult to control people from illegally mining/prospecting in such places. They search out secluded areas for personal gain. Rogue mining by individuals, in South America from what I have read is very common and in many cases allowed, like the government gives the individual the right to do so, in place of social assistance. It is possible that the life lost in the Elzuwini mine was lost due to similar circumstances,,possibly!
Either way one life lost is one too many. Perhaps some real miners can jump in and explain how these roof/rock falls are controlled here in Canada to eliminate such fatalities in the mining community.
