Implecations of Insider Buying

Implecations of Insider BuyingThe TSX site issues an insider trading report for any stock purchased or sold by an insider on any given day.

(note the above gets updated and changed everyday)

As many of us know Avion Gold has been on this list with large insider buying tranactions, for the last 4 to 6 weeks. The confusing part of all this is that these many buys do not seem to be showing up on the reported sites for insider buying. This tells me that this insider buying is either a mistake (which is unlikely) or being done by a 10% owner as opposed to a corporate officer.

The reason I suggest this is because I would assume that when a corporate officer does their buying, they would obtain their desired shares rather quickly and want to report it fairly quickly for compliance reasons and to let the world know about their confidence in this company. A 10% shareholder is a little different. They are really an investor or partner. These guys would want to keep this information quiet for as long as possible so they can acquire as many shares as they can. Since 10% is such a big position, I would also assume that many of these would like to have the entire company if they could come up with the cash and get the right price.

So my question is, does anyone know who these 10% owners might be and what do you think are the prospects for a takeover offer. It seems like the next natural progression to me.
