It's always harder to prove a negative than a positive.  e.g. prove to me God doesn't exist, versus prove to me God exists. 

IMHO, people are selling because they've made a profit (or cut their losses) and want out.   A lot of people bought a long time ago at high prices.  They don't care if there is potential, they want out.
