Initial focus will be on lung cancer, CORE was also developed by THE BC CANCER AGENCY and is built on the AURA platform.

VERISANTE  will work with theVancouver General Hospital's(VGH) LUNG CANCER CENTRE on development of a commercial CORE PROTOTYPE.

VGA'S Dr. Stephen Lam will be directly involved in the project.

Dr.lam credentials include professor of medicine at the University of BC, chair of the lung Tumour group and leader of the lung Cancer Prevention Program at the BC Cancer Aagency.

He is also co-inventor of LIFE-LUNG , a device used to detect pre-invasive lung cancers which is being used in more than 150 major hospitals worldwide.

Removal of a suspected cancerous lesion in the lung is highly invasive! Accurate diagnosis prior to the biopsy is therefore important in order to optimize patient care .
Better diagnosis also maximizes health care resources and reduces overall costs.
