Pros and Cons
Pros and ConsPros:
1. Niko Presentation: We are very very close to the Prize. This could have either meant we are close to testing the oil that we have observed or we are close to where we think the oil is. If it is the latter that is a big problem as we would have been close to TD two weeks ago, probable 3550 metres deep, minimum, which doesn't leave us that much room to encounter oil. If it means that we are close to testing the oil, that is a great sign.
2. Undertaker's Positive Comments regarding VAST having finished drilling and seen good stuff: Check Undertaker's Stockhouse Track Record, he is 100 percent in his calls, I wouldn't start betting against him now. Good stuff could also mean gas but I doubt that is what he meant.
General Abizaid's Appointment to the Board in February: The timing is great and I have a hunch that they knew this well was a positive result in early to mid February hence the General's appointment. I don't think he would risk coming on board now to an operation that was about to announce less than good results.
Cons: The share price depreciation on higher than average volume over the last few days was concerning.
2 possible reasons for this IMHO. We already know that this well is not a duster due to the 64 M column earlier encountered, that column will be tested no doubt. So what are the two reasons:
1. We hit Gas in the bottom part of the well, though this is possible it isn't that feasible considering how easy drilling had been recently (as reported by GSA, see ADVFN March 23, 2011).
2. A Private Placement. Quite likely due to the fact that this Well has again gone over the estimated time line. We do know that if a PP is announced before results that this will be a very good sign, so I wouldn't mind seeing this.
Anyhow, I think that we get a News Release next week, I won't be shocked if it is negative, however, I am pretty sure it will say we have reached TD and are testing a couple of zones of interest.
