As imperfect nuclear energy is, what else of substance does the world have.?
There is a lot of natural gas to replace some of the coal electrical plants, but gas is only one-half as dirty (ie noxious gases) as coal - but still very unappetizing.
Let's keep working on wind, sea, and solar: but even a 100% efficient solar cell does not collect that much power and will give you a kilowatt of electricity for over one dollar.
