RE: RE: RE: RE: Can we speculate about the cash?I've been involved in quite a few spinoffs in my 30+ years of investing: Southern Co. to Mirant; Ralston Purina to Energizer; Lucent to Ayala (that I remember of recognizable companies, though there were probably a dozen or so in total - LOL, 1 out of 3 successes ain't bad, is it?). Everything depends entirely on the valuation assigned to the company being spun off, and that number can't be arbitrary. We're in a unique situation where neither company has revenue, and thus far can only be called speculative until mineral reserves are assessed, etc. I'm not sure about Canadian regulations, but in the US, the parent company must abide by rules that require it to provide some inside management, maintain a percentage of ownership, provide financing, etc. for a set period of time after the spinoff. I'll agree with you that it probably won't happen soon, but you never know - they may have been working on this for awhile.
