WHY

WHYI'm not here to bash a stock that 3 members of my family hold (or held), but take a look at the situation in Japan before becoming overly bullish short-term.  The country is in a long emergency.  They say it may take months to bring those reactors under control (I hope THEY are wrong!).  But each day the crisis continues is another nail in the argument that uranium is clean energy.  Instead, it shows that uranium is clean energy until it gets dirty --and boy, can it get dirty!  If you are in the U market for the quick swings, good luck.  But you don't know when the daily pin-up is going to be some cute Japanese kid who got whacked with radiation (pray this does not happen!).  Meanwhile, here is a story to check-out: Unit 2 of the Watts Bar nuclear reactor in Tennessee is slated for completion in 2012 and production in 2013.  This particular reactor was 80% complete in 1988 when anti-nuclear protestors succeeded in shutting down the project.  So watch the activity here; this is a bellwether for the fate of future nuclear builds in North America.
