Board of directors have agreed to share options in lieu of pay.
I don't think they would do that unless they feel the project has a high probability of success.
The trend is towards clean/green technologies.  President Obama stated in his State of the Union address, now with nuclear being set back temporarily maybe companies will look into green tech. a little closer.
