Richmond, British Columbia CANADA, April 11, 2011 /FSC/ - Empower Technologies Corporation (EPT - TSX Venture), has signed a three way Memorandum of Understanding ("MOU") with a Taiwan technology partner and an automotive electronics manufacturing partner to integrate Empower's proprietary Image Signal Correction (ISC) Technology into their latest automotive camera system product development offerings.
Empower's proprietary real time Image Signal Correction Technology is comprised of a fine-tuned high powered single board computer, Empower's proprietary LEOs (Linux Embedded Operating System) and a high performance image processing software suite. Empower's proprietary high performance image processing software provides real-time de-hazing, de-blurring, de-warping, de-noising, color and contrast enhancement functions utilizing the powerful Empower embedded computing hardware. The technology is suitable for cameras deployed indoors or outdoors in harsh environments under any lighting condition. Empower's proprietary real time Image Signal Correction Technology reduces any unclear images due to fog, smog, smoke, dust, rain, snow or heat waves to helping clarify any image This greatly enables the monitor of the live situation to see clearly and thus make a better decision in countless situations.
The developer of this automotive camera system has identified Empower's ISC technology as the leader in the market today to offer ability to clean up foggy video images in real time. It is clear to both parties that this is a must for any driving camera to perform safety warning video analytic such as Lane Departure, Front Collision or Blind Spot effectively in any weather conditions except for extreme situation such as white out.
The target market of this automotive camera system manufacturer is mainly China, India and Japan. For China alone, it produces 17.5 million vehicles a year. Japan is not far behind in terms of the number of vehicles they produced worldwide. India is in its infancy and growing rapidly.
