RE: RE: fiatschmiat"I obviously figured wrong judging by MudCreeker's reaction."

I found your "Boom Boom" story funny and entertaining.  My comments certainly were not aimed at that one post - not at all.  I was just expressing my frustration at dozens of posts that seem to have changed the nature of the discussion here.  My posts are normally too long, but when I post a short one, it gets misunderstood (lol).

I think fiat hit it on the head with this comment:

"I still think you could come up with more intelligent ways to express yourself. "

IMHO, people who resort to strong language, are not really interested in sharing their ideas.  When they set those ideas in a context that is insulting and emotionally charged, they are guaranteeing that the reader will not get the message.  People react to the context rather than the content.

So messages full of vulgarity and offensive language add nothing to the discussion.  Storied that illustrate some general principle OTOH (like Boom Boom) do have value.

Now if I could just learn to express myself intelligently and briefly...

fiat also said: "It's apparently part of the internet culture."  LOL.

Here's one of my pet peeves:  People who use * or $ or who deliberately misspell words to evade the bad language filters.  Don't they understand that not only are they breaking the rules, they are admitting to the world that they KNOW they are breaking the rules, and they choose to do so deliberately.

That's what I meant by a lack of character.
