I do not know if Barrick has a formal standard but it is mostly interested in a mine where they can produce 500,000 ounces per year for a long time.   They cannot be bothered with resources of 2 million ounces or less.  By selling little assets they simplify life for their real estate guys and collect some money and later earn a royalty.

On the other hand BZA is suitably structured and managed for a small mine
