I've seen and heard ads for the Gimbel Clinic. The surgeon for GBV is one of the top cataract surgeons in Manitoba. (Was mentioned in the local paper as one of the doctors that made the most $ last year). Don't know how much time he'll spend at GBV if his cataract surgery is pulling in the cash. He's a good surgeons but as far as I know hadn't performed a Lasik surgey when he was hired. LSK is booked solid. Tons of patients from the US. The business is cut throat. Lots of inside politics involving doctors and the colleage and physicans. Its actually to bad. There's room for everyone. There is another clinic opening in Winnipeg. LSK doesn't have anything to worry about. The surgeon has done a lot of surgerys and US word of mouth is starting to kick in. There was a negative article about the LSK surgeon on the front page of the Saturday Free Press a while ago. It was regarding some past issues, including revoking his rights to do cataract surgeries at his private clinic. IMO it was more politics. It happened to appear just as the GBV and other clinic was opening, and was about a ruling that was handed down 4 months ago. If LSK has a 4 month waiting list, GBV and other clinics should have no problem finding patients.
