Capella Resources Re-Initiates Exploration at Lajitas-Chile

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - April 19, 2011) - CAPELLA RESOURCES LTD. (TSX VENTURE:KPS) ("Capella" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that it had contracted with PhotoSat Information Ltd. of Vancouver, Canada and SpecTIR LLC of Reno, Nevada to obtain high resolution, satellite-derived digital terrain models and airborne hyperspectral data collection that will aid the Company in defining a resource and identifying new gold zones at the Company's Lajitas Project in northern Chile.

Capella's Lajitas Project is located on the Maricunga Gold-Copper Belt in the County of Copiapo, Third Region, Republic of Chile, approximately 700 km northwest of Santiago, Chile. The property consists of 1,600 hectares of exploration and exploitation claims.

The high resolution topographic data, derived from high-resolution satellite imagery, will aid in developing better surface/attitude controls for mineralization and constrain resource models. High-resolution topography has also been demonstrated as a useful tool in outlining subtle structural trends important to the control of gold mineralization.

Hyperspectral imaging technology utilizing airborne scanners capable of recording 357 spectral bands simultaneously in visible to short-wave infrared range of electromagnetic spectrum and is a relatively new surveying technology using reflected solar energy to detect specific surficial alteration minerals. Using a high-fidelity airborne sensor from SpecTIR LLC., Capella has contracted the acquisition of hyperspectral imagery which will give it an unprecedented appraisal of the hydrothermal alteration mineralogy at Lajitas, intended to outline subtle zones of Maricunga-type gold mineralization in the district. Similar technology has been used elsewhere in the Maricunga belt yielding promising results.

Brief History of the Lajitas Project

In 1996 Minera Santa Fe Pacific Chile Ldta (MSFPC) completed 14 reverse circulation drill holes (2574 metres). Five of the drill holes were mineralized with intervals up to 50 metres wide averaging up to 1.32 g/t gold.

In 2006, Capella drilled seven verification Reverse Circulation (RC) drill holes (1709 metres) in the area of the historic Santa Fe gold resource. Intersections of particular note from the RC drilling include 192 metres @ 0.72 g/t gold (LJ06007), 116 metres @ 0.88 g/t gold (LJ06001r) and 92 metres @ 0.95 g/t gold (LJ06002r).

In 2008 Capella completed a 1364 metre, four hole diamond drill core program to test a 2 kilometre-diameter geophysical anomaly. Hole LJ-08011 intersected a zone of continuous gold mineralization of 261 meters grading 0.91 g/t gold between 90 meters and 351 meters down the hole. Contained within the intersection is 104.7 meters grading 1.59 g/t gold. Anomalous copper mineralization was intersected throughout hole LJ-08011 with the best interval grading 0.15% copper over 33 meters.

During the 2009-2010 drill season Capella completed RC drilling program and extensive road building campaign at Lajitas. The drill program targeted the new gold zones discovered during the 2008-2009 exploration season while the extensive road building campaign provided outcrop exposure that will be used in an effort to define structures/trends and to establish correlation with geophysical data. Drilling results include 318 metres grading 0.68 g/t gold including 140 meters at 1.02 g/t gold (LJ10015r), 92 metres at 0.74 g/t gold (LJ10017r), 142 metres at 0.57 g/t gold including 48m at 1.07 g/t (LJ10021r), and 170 metres at 0.56 g/t gold (LJ10024r).
