Not correct. Tax structure was changed last year. It now encourages trading. It is not longer tax free for a German investor to hold a stock for more than 12 months. Every time you make a profit trading shares a 28.5 percent tax will be automatically deducted from the gains by the bank - totally indepedent if you hold the stock for one day, six months or two years.
