Copper is the new Gold

Copper is the new Gold

A number of factors have pushed copper significantly higher this morning.

*Copper has gone through the $4.30 cent roof this morning. https://www.kitcometals.com/charts/Copper.html

*Canadian/USA dollar mid market rate $1.052 this morning. A weaker USA dollar will mean commodity prices will remain higher for a long long long time.

*Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc.(competitor) said it suspended operations at a mine in Indonesia due to mining accident.Subsurface activity was stopped at the Grasberg mine after an “industrial accident” killed one worker and left another missing, said Freeport, the world’s biggest publicly traded producer.

*Stronger than expected USA housing starts

*The metal also gained today after a report signaled that manufacturing remains robust in China. Worries about Japan slowing China have been put aside.
