CEO interviewGood find Erny! As of yesterday it appeared the site was being neglected; even the $2mm NR was not published, but this fresh info. and publishing the recent NR is welcome. The long-term strategy and funding scenario is looking quite promising. Aside from immediate drilling plans, this picture will improve significantly as cash rolls in and plans unfold. This will NOT be the typical...go away in May...not for Ecometals!
With 600 tenements in good standing, I wonder how many companies they're spread across and when Ecuador will demonstrate its key themes: Respect, Responsibility, Efficiency and Transparency. Ecuador demands respect doesn't seem to offer much, athough they do appear to be winding down the overt threats, and in the contract process continuing to say negotiations will be "difficult."
Ecuador keeps touting responsibility, efficiency and transparency but MRNNR and other decision makers in the country seem to have no concept of time or urgency. Publishing the model contract is many months overdue (irresponsible and non-transparent), and we've yet to see broad activation of mining activities beyond the half-dozen companies typically mentioned (horribly inefficient). That said, as the fog begins to clear EC is well positioned to act on new opportunities as outlined in the interview.
The company re-affirmed its focus on GOLD, which suggests the iron properties might be considered non-core and subject to disposal. Valuation could have been significant had they been drilled. Anyone care to put a price on this?
