Grizzly starts actively hunting for Alberta potash

 

TORONTO (miningweekly.com) – Shares in Grizzly Discoveries jumped 36%after the TSX V-listed junior announced it started exploration work atits Alberta potash project.

“We are aggressively pursuing the development of this project given ourbelief that agricultural products and foodstuffs could experiencesignificant inflation over the next several years,” said CEO Brian Testo.

The company said it would start a seismic study of its properties nearLloydminster and Provost this month, and the first drills would startturning on the projects in September or October.

“This economic environment, combined with the immense size of theproject and indications of historic potash mineralization at depthsfavorable for solution mining, bode very well for the future results ofour exploration,” said Testo.

Grizzly’s stock closed at C
,75 apiece, with just over half-a-million shares changing hands.

Neighboring Saskatchewan accounts for nearly one-third of global potash supplies.
