RE: RE: RE: Man - I've seen a lotOh, yeah, Ballard Power. I got into it shortly after its listing and got out – luckily – with my butt intact. Remember all those Ballard buses that were soon to rule the North American public transit universe? I own about 700 shares of RIM – there is nothing in my portfolio that exceeds 6% of the portfolio's overall value – and I truly do feel badly for those who might be overweight in this issue. That overweighting – perhaps even more so than the share-price collapse – is what whacked me with Com Dev and Vasogen. Those two (a small cap and a spec stock) should have represented only a small proportion of the overall portfolio, but when things got giddy back in the late '90s, I got stupid and greedy for a while and paid the price. Never again – I'm now too old to risk retirement capital that way. Good wishes to RIM longs – maybe something redeeming will come out of Florida next week. And I hope all of this has humbled Mr. Balsillie a bit – he's a bit too arrogant for my personal taste, but I do appreciate his competitive streak. Maybe he can put it to good use one of these days by shortening RIM's product cycle and getting fresh, innovative stuff to market the way Apple/Jobs seem able to do. aclcmc
